Running a Game
(for the Game Master)
As the G.M. you are consider God you can make
rivers run backward and Pigs fly but the game must be enjoyable to the
players or you will be a God with no worshipers. In short no one will
like the games that you run and no one will play them.
When thinking of games think of the world first? Secondly your players
need to fight a villain. Third why are the hero's of your game after the
villain? The villain must have a plan or a goal in order for they're to
be a story. These are the three main things need to run a game but to
make it fun is another story.
The world in this game is already made in modern times of today's world.
So creating the world for this system is not a hard thing for you to do
because it is already done.
Second comes the villain of the game. When making a villain or picking
a villain remembers he or she is the mastermind of the story. Usually
the villain of the game is really powerful, dramatic, and smooth. In other
words the villain is usually nice! The villain is a NPC character (Non
playing character) who is under your direct control. Just because your
NPC's are being beating don't get upset, mad, or pissed. Just remember
that truly powerful villains always have an escape plan and always come
back to face you in the future.
Last and most Importantly the Goal of the game, without a goal the players
are just screwing around without a cause. As a G.M. you must think of
a goal for the players to obtain. If you try to make them follow a story
that is even harder because know one can think of all of the movements
that a player makes. Besides sometimes the players give the G.M. ideas
to put up against them with their ramblings of paranoia and bad guess.
Remember to keep an open mind also make the game fun and try not to be
controlling over your players. Try not to be to obvious or to hard with
the clues and hits that you give your players make. Let them think and
use their minds to solve the problems that they encounter. Now just because
your the G.M. in truth your not really a god! You can't know and think
of every thing. You're not also expected to know every thing. Just take
your time and plan a game that you think that your players would like
and remember have fun.
